- The TSP Hub is a transformative industrial program designed to support evolving agricultural practices and address the diversity of fertilization needs.
- It relies on an integrated process enabling the production of customized fertilizers with high agronomic value.
- Driven by the Manufacturing Special Business Unit (SBU), in coordination with OCP Nutricrops, OFAS and JESA, the program fosters a more agile industrial model, focused on precision and performance.
- With the first two production lines of the TSP Hub, OCP Nutricrops now exceeds 5 million tonnes of TSP production capacity.
Casablanca, July 28 – Launched on the Jorf Lasfar industrial platform, the TSP Hub stands as a key lever in OCP Nutricrops’ industrial transformation. Combining increased capacity and operational flexibility, this strategic program addresses the challenges of modern, demanding, and customized agriculture by delivering fertilizer production tailored to the diverse and growing needs of the market.
Led by the Manufacturing SBU in collaboration with OCP Nutricrops, OFAS and JESA, the TSP Hub upgrades existing capabilities and lays the foundation for more precise fertilizer production that meets current agronomic requirements. It uses a flexible industrial process that allows precise integration of nutrients and additives, meeting the specific needs of farmers according to their soils and crops. This technology provides industrial agility and speed in developing new, customized formulations.
With the commissioning of the first two production lines – each with an annual capacity of 500,000 tonnes – OCP Nutricrops’ TSP equivalent production now exceeds 5 million tonnes. TSP (Triple Super Phosphate), a concentrated phosphate fertilizer, contains over 90% of phosphorus in a plant-available form, making it especially suitable for nutrient-deficient soils and for smart fertilization strategies based on the 4R principles (Right Source, Right Rate, Right Time, Right Place).
To reach the next milestone, an ambitious program to adapt nitrogen fertilizer production units is currently underway. This key initiative involves integrating new equipment and modifying existing facilities to enable them to also produce TSP. This ramp-up will allow OCP Nutricrops to achieve an annual installed capacity of over 7 million tonnes of TSP by the end of 2025, thereby optimizing its industrial assets to effectively meet rising demand for phosphate-based fertilizers.
“The TSP Hub represents a major step in our phosphate fertilizer production strategy. It strengthens our ability to deliver high agronomic value fertilizers, tailored to the specific needs of soils and farmers around the world, while enhancing our industrial precision, performance, and capacity,” said Youssef El Bari, CEO of OCP Nutricrops.
“The TSP Hub reflects the industrial transformation led by the Manufacturing SBU to address the challenges of fertilizer customization amid increasing agronomic diversification. It marks the emergence of an ambidextrous, agile, and customer-focused industrial model, where the production tool becomes a strategic lever. Through its new organization, the Manufacturing SBU is developing an increasing number of customized products tailored to highly differentiated needs. This dynamic illustrates our commitment to putting industrial performance – in flexibility, capacity, and adaptability – at the service of sustainable value creation,” said Ahmed Mahrou, Managing Director of the Manufacturing SBU.
The launch of the TSP Hub is supported by reinforced governance, with the creation of a cross-functional launch team and the optimized coordination of over 1,200 on-site professionals across all trades. The project is the result of close collaboration between the OCP Group’s Manufacturing SBU, OCP Nutricrops, OFAS, and JESA. Environmentally, the TSP Hub relies entirely on the use of non-conventional water sources, in line with OCP Group’s broader sustainability strategy.
